Volunteer & Chaperone Application Process
Volunteer & Chaperone Application Process
Thank you for your interest in volunteering or serving as a chaperone in our schools. Volunteers and chaperones play an important role in supporting our students, and to help maintain a safe learning environment, all applicants must complete the approval process outlined below.
Step 1: Submit an Intent to Volunteer or Chaperone
Complete the Intent to Volunteer or Chaperone application by either:
- Completing the online application: CRE Online Application, or
- Submitting the printable PDF application to your child's school.
Step 2: Pay the Background Screening Fee
A $15.00 non-refundable background screening fee is required for all applicants. Payment may be made by:
- Online through RevTrak: CRE RevTrak Payment Link, or
- Cash or check submitted with the PDF application.
As part of the screening process, any applicant with a criminal history will be reviewed in accordance with Florida Statute 435.04, which identifies offenses that disqualify individuals from serving as school volunteers or chaperones.
Step 3: School Administrative Review
After your application is received, the school administration will review your request and determine whether your volunteer or chaperone services are appropriate for their school, classroom activities, or field trips based on the school's needs.
Step 4: Complete the Background Screening Application
If your application receives administrative approval, you will receive an email with instructions to complete the required background screening process. Please follow the instructions in the email promptly to avoid delays.
Step 5: Final Review and Notification
Once your background screening has been completed, the Safe Schools Department will review the results. If there are any concerns or if your application is denied, the school will contact you directly regarding your status or any additional information that may be required.
We appreciate your willingness to support our students and schools. Completing these steps helps ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone in our school community.
